| Club Rules Please understand these rules are important so that everyone can be happy. Rule #1 : Participation - All members are expected to give critiques for other members, however it is not expected for everyone to critique every submission, this is not realistic. But do be aware that both myself and my officers will be watching for those who do participate and the members who show improvement as well being active in critiques will reap the benefits for doing so. Such benefits could include features and maybe even prizes such as requests from our more talented members. Rule #2 :Learn the basics - Read the following journal entries in learning the basic guide lines for giving critiques, how to receive them and if needed how to spot the basics of good art. Critique Guide Line [link] This give a brief overview of how to do a good critique and what to look for. Rule #3 :Conduct and deportment - All members are expected to act with some measure of tact when responding to other member’s submissions. This is not to say that you have to sugar coat what you have to say but it does not mean that you can be rude either. The same goes for responding to critiques as well, remember it is not best to get emotional or defensive because these people are taking time to help you the best they can. Rule #4 : Submission - submitting a deviation to the Order of Artists costs five OoA club points (see the Points list on the bottom of the page for details on how to earn and spend club points). There are two types submissions that members can submit in this club. The first type of submissions are called WIPs, works in progress. WIPs are designed for when a member is working on piece and is experiencing a block in what to do next or is unsure about something. The second type of submission are pieces that are completed and ready for a full critique or almost completed but will receive the same treatment. Both submission types must have comments allowed so that critiques can be written to the OoA submission where they are easy to keep track of by officers and club leader who deal with the point system. However in the Artist's Comments box you must say that this is an Art Critique Club submission and leave a link to your submission in your private account where members can fav your work and let you know when they have given you OoA critique. If the above is a little confusing then go to this link for a break down on submissions. [link] Rule #5 :Critiquing other members - As a member you are expected to watch this account from your own private account and is a requirement for membership. If you intend to critique a person's you must do so from your own private account and post the critique in the Comments section of the Order of Artists submission. This is to allow myself and other officers to see when critique is given and reward the critiquing with club points (for more information on this, check out the bottom part of the Points list below). Also when leaving a critique on the OoA submission, please notify the Deviant that she/he has received critique in the comments section of the Deviant's private account submission. Rule #6: Permissions and reprimands: Only my self and some club officers will be allowed to alter the journal, notes, or any other text type on this account and regular members are not allowed alter anything except for making submissions. If a member breaks the rules or has contentious bad behavior actions will be taken. This is an honor system and you will expect to act honorably. Remember we are here to learn, make friends and to have fun. While we might not be all the same skill level we are equal when it comes to respecting one another. |
